STILL NIGHT

Still Night was commissioned by Brisbane Festival and the Museum of Modern Art, Kochi, Japan. It takes the form of a lecture in a nonsense language. The subject: the city that hosts it. The room eventually disappears into a dark underworld, created with binaural sound design.

‘How is it that you know of this city? It is only now that I have dreamt of it.’ (Italo Calvino - Invisible Cities)

‘Is Still Night a show, a performance or an interactive event? This work goes far beyond labels and genre, it is an experience that involves the audience 360 degrees. It starts from familiar references - the spaces of one's own city, the sounds of its dialectal language, faces on photographs - but it gently moves towards archetypal and fluctuating scenarios of great emotional impact.’
ARTWAVE, ITALIA

‘Still Night spins us through a medley of possible meanings of what it might mean to be an audience.’
